These days it's been popular because of the tram Namwirye, and I visited.
I was craving sashimi and soju for the first time in a while, so I looked for a sashimi restaurant near Namwirye Station. There were quite a few sashimi places around the station. After some thought, the place I chose was Hoe Tteuneun Samchun.
📄 Menu and Prices

It seemed the sashimi options were mainly flatfish (olive flounder), rockfish, sea bream, sea bass, and assorted platters, and some items were sold at market price. Since many regulars come here, there were a lot of people asking the owner things like, "Is XX available today~?"
I thought it was a bit pricier compared to other sashimi places around Namwirye, but after trying the side dishes and sashimi, that thought completely disappeared~~
🏠 Store Size and Atmosphere

The shop is a medium size—not too big, not too small. There looked to be about 10 tables. There was also an 8-seat table available for group diners.
Overall it has bright lighting and a clean atmosphere. The kitchen is somewhat open, which gives a reassuring feeling!
🐟 Food Review
Everything from the side dishes to the main sashimi and the spicy fish stew was delicious. Looking at the photos again makes my mouth water..
Side Dishes

The side dish lineup was really solid. While nibbling on the silken tofu, the aunt brought over miyeok-guk (seaweed soup). It came piping hot and was so refreshing and tasty!! You could see small pieces of fish in it... it was the kind of taste that melts away the last bit of cold.
Steamed egg (gyeran-jjim) also arrived in a huge, impressive portion. All the side dishes were very delicious.
They also served sea pineapple (meongge). I couldn't quite remember the exact taste, and after trying it I remembered why I usually avoid it. 😅 It's not my style, but the texture was very fresh and the ocean flavor came through.
Assorted Sashimi

That day we ordered the assorted sashimi - small. We received flatfish (olive flounder), rockfish, and sea bream. From overhearing the owner and another customer, it seemed the assortment doesn't always contain the exact same items!
Since they slice the fish as you order, it seemed they compose the platter based on the remaining types that match the price range. It might be a good idea to ask which fish will be included before ordering the assortment.
In particular, the salad that comes with the sashimi is really delicious. Wrapping it in perilla leaves or white kimchi is a flavor bomb. There's something like injeolmi powder in it, and that's the kicker.

The sashimi slices were thick... that day the flatfish was incredibly tasty. It was chewy and savory. I could see why there are many regulars who come often.

Halfway through, the aunt gave us two pieces of maki. She explained how to eat them: use a little less flying fish roe, put some salad and a piece of sashimi on the maki, and add a piece of white kimchi—it's divine.

After moistening it with a shot of soju~

The owner also brought over grilled mackerel!! There were even more side dishes. hahaha
The owner came out briefly to small-talk and neatly removed the mackerel bones. He mentioned he personally manages the mackerel, and since it's already seasoned when served, you can eat it without soy sauce.
That mackerel was a real delicacy. Eating a plate of sashimi, then some mackerel, makes the soju go down so easily..
Spicy Fish Stew (Maeuntang)

You can't skip maeuntang for the final course.
You can add sujebi (hand-torn dough), and it seemed they make the sujebi dough themselves. On the day we visited, it was quiet so the owner tore the dough for us, but when he's busy customers seem to tear and add it themselves.
The maeuntang was spicy and flavorful, and with sujebi added it was very satisfying~~
Restroom, Parking, and Smoking Area
I also checked the restroom, parking, and smoking area.
Restroom

The restroom is located outside the shop, then turn right. It was a shared restroom, and it seemed very well maintained. I think the access code was posted at the shop entrance.
Parking

We walked so we didn't have a car. Parking in front of the shop is limited, and the building itself is a residence so there were already a few cars parked.
Fortunately, there appears to be a public parking lot nearby. You can use the Seoilro Village Public Parking Lot.
Smoking Area

It looked like people smoke next to the shop door. Although there's a no-smoking sign at the entrance, there were chairs and an ashtray bin, so it seems they use that spot as a smoking area.

From sashimi to maeuntang, everything was delicious at Wirye Hoe Tteuneun Samchun! The Namwirye atmosphere is so nice that I'll probably go again. I'll definitely visit again the next time I'm in Namwirye!!!
