Last Saturday I visited Moran. The weather had warmed up a lot, so I took a walk to Yatap and in the evening went to a pub I had scoped out beforehand!
For a second round, I stopped by Bijuryu and had such a satisfying drink that I want to introduce it to you. 🙌

🍜 Menu
The overall menu feels somewhere between fusion and an izakaya (Japanese-style pub). The signature dishes are composed roughly as follows.
Sashimi
Nabe (hot pot)
Samhab (three-combination dish)
Stew
Jjambbong / Udon
That day we had a hearty first course beforehand, so we ordered a light soup-based dish.
spicy creamy seafood noodle soup (Korean-style jjambbong)

The visuals are seriously striking.. I didn’t have high expectations, but I was surprised by how substantial and appetizingly composed it was. 😲
(I instantly liked it from this point..)
The dish was composed of scallops, shrimp, wood ear mushrooms, and noodles.
Moderately spicy with a creamy finish that isn’t overly heavy — the balance was really excellent.

After drinking some soju and some broth, the noodles start to show through. Do you see it.. that rich and clingy texture (sticks to the noodles)..!
The cream at the bottom mixed with the noodles and created an incredibly rich and clingy finish.
acai berry sherbet
Since the first dish was so delicious, we didn’t want to leave just yet.

As a palate cleanser and side, we ordered the acai berry sherbet. It’s composed of blueberries, nuts, and a sherbet generously topped with blueberry jam.
Coconut and blueberry paired really well together.

Do you see how generously the jam is spread on the sherbet? The sweet-and-tart flavor made it a perfect palate cleanser!
💃 Atmosphere
The overall vibe felt like an izakaya (Japanese-style pub) with a bit of hipness mixed in. Because the atmosphere is quite aesthetic, I noticed a lot of women visiting.
Interior

For groups, they seem to push tables together to create combined tables for groups (tables pushed together), and it looked like up to 8 people could be seated.
Groups of around four sat at regular tables, and 2-person parties (couples, etc.) mainly sat at the bar seat (counter seat) in the middle. We sat at the bar seat that day too — the lighting was soft and there was a flower in the center, so it felt more atmospheric than the regular tables. ☺️
Exterior

The venue is located on the 2nd floor. If you take the stairs at the right-hand building entrance, you’ll see the restaurant entrance!
Oh, they also strictly check IDs, so be sure to bring your ID or a mobile pass when you go!
🧻 Facilities
Restroom

The restroom is a unisex restroom inside the venue. The space was fairly large and I remember it being generally clean.
Parking
There didn’t seem to be a dedicated parking lot. There is a spot to park to the right of the building entrance, but sometimes spaces are available and sometimes they’re not, so I recommend using public transportation!
Smoking area
There wasn’t a separate smoking room; it looked like people smoked to the right of the 1st-floor building entrance.
The food and atmosphere at Bijuryu were both fantastic! If you’re looking for an aesthetic izakaya in Moran, I highly recommend stopping by Bijuryu at least once! 🙌
